A kind-hearted man noticed a tiny kitten in his apartment building living on the staircase. The motherless kitty appeared to have trouble opening her eyes, so he investigated and discovered that the poor thing was born without them.
This is Votchy the tiny kitten!
A man from Egypt named Zeyad K. began to feed the little calico kitten, making sure that she gets food to eat every day. He really wanted to help the kitten but was not sure if he can bring her inside because he was living with five other members of his family.
“I opened her eye sockets to check, but there was nothing inside. That’s when I knew that she was completely blind,” Zeyad told Love Meow.
One day, Zeyad K. had to leave town for a few days, and he got really worried that the sick little feline might not make it until he gets back to take care of her.
“I returned home to find her lying down on my doorstep and she was just skin and bones, looking a lot dirtier than she was before. My family didn’t need any more convincing after seeing that saddening sight, as I had been telling them how a blind stray cat wouldn’t be able to survive on her own and how we needed to take her in.”
Zeyad K. started to hand feed Votchy round the clock, making sure she has all the energy to make it through the day. The tiny kitten was too weak to eat on her own and couldn’t even move from one place to another.
When Votchy regained strength, it was pretty clear that she was happy to be with her new human dad. She started to explore her new home until she got comfortable with the people around her.
“She learned to navigate around the apartment more easily than I’d expected. When I first brought her in she could barely walk. The more strength she regained, the more she started exploring everywhere, even found a few favorite sleeping spots in tight spaces around the house,” Zeyad told Love Meow.
Once the sweet calico was able to roam around freely, Zeyad and his family noticed that she never responded when they called her name. That’s when they discovered that the poor little thing is not only blind but also deaf.
“She didn’t seem to be startled by any loud, jarring noise even though my other cat would immediately start running away if I started the vacuum or blender,” Zeyad told Love Meow.
“She gets startled super easily if someone touches her even slightly. When I snapped my fingers really loudly right next to her ears, she would not even flinch or react in the slightest.”
Despite her condition, Votchy grew up to be the sweetest and most playful cat ever. She is full of life and never complained about what she doesn’t have.
Zeyad never regrets the time he gave to Votchy when the cat needed someone to help her make it through rough times.
“It was one of my better decisions in life. Now she’s living her life just like any other cat and absolutely loves to be petted,” Zeyad told Love Meow.
