Desperate Castaway Kitten Got Lost In the Sea Rescued By Boaters

A family was enjoying their vacation in the black sea when they came across a tiny creature crying for help. Natalia Nikitina did not expect that her family would be able to save a life that day.

The family was sailing along a remote stretch of coastline when they heard the tiny cries from a kitten. Everyone was shocked because the area is miles away from civilization.

“The sound gradually intensified,” Nikitina said to The Dodo. “At first it was nearly invisible, but then I could see this black spot moving in the distance. It was a kitten. She jumped over the stony bank, following our voices. She jumped from stone to stone, and crossed the snags.”

The boat could not come closer to the kitten who got stuck in the shallow but rocky water. However, the desperate little cutie did not wait for them to come any closer.

“While we thought about what to do, she jumped into the water and swam.”

Two members of Nikitina’s family immediately jumped after the poor kitten and the dramatic rescue was captured on camera.

Although the castaway kitten is alive, she looked really exhausted and hungry. The place where she was rescued was pretty remote, and she is very lucky to have been found by kind hearted people.

Poor little castaway kitten

Nikitina and the rest of the family stayed for a while in the area just in case another kitten could be heard or seen on shore. As soon as they reached dry land, the tiny kitten was given food and everyone assumed that the meal could be her first in days.

Little Aurora eating her first meal in days!

“The kitten had no other choice. These are very deserted places,” Nikitina said. “We just happened to be there.”

Fortunately for the kitten, the whole family loves cats and they decided that one of them should adopt her. They named her Aurora and she quickly stole the heart of Nikitina’s mother.

She has already been adopted by Nikitina’s mother and despite what she has been through, little Aurora is described as a happy, affectionate and active feline.

“At home she always wants to be close to people,” Nikitina said. “She’s afraid to be alone.”

We are so happy that Aurora has been given a chance to live a happy life with some of the nicest people on earth!
