Meet Van Gogh the cat!

Van Gogh is a shelter cat with a missing ear. Despite his imperfection, the handsome kitty is full of energy and loves to play with his brother, Picasso.

Both shelter cats are still waiting for potential adopters to give them the chance to live in a forever home. The cats were surrendered at the shelter together after their owner became ill.

Sweet baby boy Picasso!

“VanGogh and Picasso are young brothers who have had a difficult time of late. Their guardian, an elderly woman, became ill. An ambulance came to transport and in the commotion and haste, VanGogh and Picasso slipped out the door. They were out for a week before the family was able to finally convince them to come back inside. Sadly, their guardian passed away and they came into our foster care”

“Picasso is in good health, but Van Gogh was diagnosed with Herpes Viral Conjunctivitis, which is why his eye looks goofy. He’ll need eye drops indefinitely. We are unsure about why he’s missing an ear — his former owners adopted him seven years ago that way.”

Despite missing an ear, volunteers at the shelter are saying that Van Gogh is the sweetest cat they ever had. Along with his beautiful brother, they give the loudest purrs at the animal center.

“Van Gogh and Picasso lived in the communal room at our shelter for several months before they went into a foster home. Because they have been available for adoption for so long we thought it’d be best to give them a change of pace.”

Just as everyone seems to be giving up, a loving family decided to adopt the two brothers. The two are currently living together under the loving care of their new human mom.

“They are awesome cats – head-butting, purring and kisses. All they want is to find their forever home and be loved.”
