What’s better than the thought of hunk Chris Evans? Chris Evans with a dog. The Captain America actor is known to be a dog lover. Recently, he adopted a mutt, whom he met while filming his latest movie Gifted.
In Gifted, Evans has a one-eyed cat named Fred, but in reality, he is not really into felines but more into canines. He met his new dog he named Dodger while filming an animal shelter scene in the movie opposite McKenna Grace.
Chris Evans and his new dog, Dodger.
He shares to People:
“One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel,” Evans tells PEOPLE. “I foolishly walked in and I thought, ‘Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there.
I snagged him and he’s such a good dog. They aged him at about one, he acts like a puppy, he’s got the energy of a puppy, he’s just such a sweetheart, he’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he’s full of love.”
If you’re a real Chris Evans fan, you’ll know that he once had a bulldog named East, who is practically his world. Unfortunately, East died in 2013, but three years later, he felt that he needed to have a new friend. That’s when he met Dodger.
Evans had a bulldog named East, who he considered as the love of his life.
The self-proclaimed “dog lunatic” enjoys time around Dodger and they pretty much do things together. He described exercise time with his dog friend as exhausting but clearly now, the actor is having fun. All that fun with Dodger gets him dirty but Evans is crazy for baths and he gives a lot to Dodger.
Now, Chris Evans bathing a dog is definitely a much, much better thought.
