There are millions of homeless cats and kittens available for adoptions at shelters across the United States every single year. Not all of them are lucky enough to find their furever home, but some get to experience what it is like to have a loving family.
What’s even more difficult is finding a home for two cats who just don’t want to be adopted if one is left at the shelter.
Meet brothers Charlie and Linus!
Charlie and Linus are two cat brothers who just couldn’t live without each other. They are best friends who hope to be adopted together.
“Before we got them we learned that when they were babies they were kept in a one-room area without a lot of socialization,” Amy Rogers, a foster mom with Animal Allies of Texas, told The Dodo. “They were shy, timid and skittish.”
The two of them are currently living with Rogers as they wait for their forever family to pick them up. The two cats arrived at the foster home with their sister, who got adopted earlier this year. The foster mom also has a dog who gets along perfectly with the cats.
“Our Great Pyrenees plays the part of dad to all the cats,” Rogers said. “Charlie and Linus were shy at first but now make themselves right at home. Charlie likes to help fold clothes … or maybe I should say unfold clothes. He’ll jump right up in the middle of your stack and dig in. Give him a pillow case to crawl in and he’s in heaven.”
It would be impossible to split the two cats as they clearly depend on each other.
“They love sleeping together and they come running if they hear the other one meow,” Rogers said. “Two peas in a pod, those two.”
According to the rescue group, ever since their story came out online, many potential adopters have come forward to pick them up.
It is only a matter of time before both of them will get to experience a life with a loving family who will watch over them and give them unlimited TLC.
