A kind-hearted man saved a homeless cat, who had been seen wandering on the busy streets of Las Vegas. When he realized that the kitty he just rescued had tiny kittens living somewhere outside, he went back to the street and spend hours to find them.
About three months ago, a volunteer from a local Trap-Neuter-Return group, C5, rescued the homeless cat from the city streets. He took her to a spay/neuter center and was later informed by doctors that the cat had been nursing, and her kittens needed to be found.
Volunteers immediately went back to the location where the cat was rescued and began to look for the tiny kittens. Duff, the person who found the mother cat, along with other rescuers, decided to stay until night time, hoping to bring the kittens to safety.
“They searched for hours, finally found the kittens hidden in a neighbor’s yard in a pile of wood,” Ellen told Love Meow.
It was almost midnight when they find them and even stayed up until 3 AM caring for the mother cat and her tiny kittens. The volunteers are also hoping they could find someone to foster the little cat family until they are strong enough to be put up for adoption.
They named the mother cat Portia and the three tiny kittens Persia (white), Palma and Paris.
The group decided to contact Ellen and the kind-hearted human foster parent immediately accepted the challenge to take care of this young cat family.
Ellen remembered many countless nights just to make sure all the kittens get everything that they need round the clock. She also helped the mother cat learn how to trust.
Unfortunately, one of the tiny kittens died due to a hereditary condition, but the other two tabbies survived.
At the beginning, Portia had problems trusting people and spent most of her time hiding in a cabinet. Thankfully, the shy mother cat allowed Ellen to help her care for her kittens. Slowly but surely, Portia started to come around.
After several weeks, Momma Portia started to show her sweet side and even seek for her foster mom’s attention.
“She was warming up to me, rubbing my legs begging me to pet her,” Ellen said.
Beautiful Palma and Paris.
They two are inseparable.
“Paris is coming to terms that he has a permanent goatee.”
When it was time for the mother cat to be put up for adoption, Portia found her forever home with a young woman, and it was a match made in heaven
“She went from living outside in a dump yard, having who knows how many litters, to living the good life.”
As for the two tiny kittens, they were recently adopted and found a human that is willing to give them unconditional love.
The best thing about it is they got adopted together by the same owner.
