Man Rescues Stray Cat And Brings Her On An Epic Motorcycle Trip Across 10 Countries

This former stray cat was just wandering the streets of Morocco hoping for someone to give her food to go through each day. She was struggling to survive until a kind-hearted man decided to save her – now, the fearless kitty is bringing new meaning to the term, “adventure cat.”

Meet Mogli the adventurer!

This tiny creature has traveled through more than a dozen countries with her 32-year-old human dad, Martin Klauka of Rosenheim, Germany. The two have gone on a motorcycle expedition while the adorable feline sat comfortably in the tank bag of his human dad’s Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin bike.

Martin never intended to adopt a cat as he dreamed of a more nomadic lifestyle. However, when he found Mogli while traveling with friends in Morocco last year, he immediately decided to keep her after the cat wouldn’t let him go.

“We were sitting in the streets of a small town when a little-malnourished cat with an injured tail approached us,” Martin told The Dodo. “I called to her and she instantly came over, laid down in my arms and fell asleep. Locals who had seen her before told me that her mum got hit by a car and that she, being too young and weak to fend for herself, would most likely die in the streets.”

The cat was in a bad shape when Martin found her. She couldn’t even lift her head and was desperately begging him to help her. The kind-hearted man knew he couldn’t abandon her.

Despite people telling him to leave the dirty cat on the street, Martin smuggled Mogli into his hotel room and rest is history…

“When I got up, I was still full of doubt, but already in love with that little rugrat, so I decided to put her on the motorbike to see how she would cope,” Martin explained. “‘It’s definitely not the right place for a cat,’ I thought, but it was either going to be that or almost certain death on the streets.”

Though Mogli was wary of the motorcycle at first, the adorable kitten seemed to calm down after only a half hour on the road. That’s when Martin knew he had found his future travel companion.

In July last year, Martin decided to quit his job and started a long motorcycle trip to the Mediterranean Sea to Iran and then into the United Arab Emirates, crossing 10 countries on his way, and reaching Dubai in December.

Mogli certainly enjoyed the trip and found a place in Martin’s bag on the front of his bike, occasionally sticking her head out to watch the passing scenery, or meowing in protest if Klauka exchanges smooth pavement for a bumpy dirt road.

“This is obviously what she likes the most,” Martin said, “and after checking back on me a few times to make sure we’re actually staying, she goes off exploring for hours, sometimes even a whole day.”

“Normally she stays near the campsite when I leave to run errands or check out the surroundings, but sometimes when it’s safe and there are no cars, dogs or other cats around, she follows me,” Martin said. “Most of the time I’m following her, though.”

Not only did Martine found a perfect travel companion, he also found a friend for life…

“I’m happy with where I am in my life and happy to have taken her,” Martin added, “happy to have gotten through all of this.”

Martin also said that their adventure has only just begun.

Mogli is definitely thankful to have found a man who is willing to love her unconditionally.
