This cat knew exactly how dangerous it is for tiny kittens to be alone out there without a mother to guide them. Being a mother herself, this rescue cat with four babies of her own decided to take in five orphaned kittens who were desperate for motherly love.

When this mother cat heard one of the orphaned kittens’ cry, she rushed toward them and provided some TLC.

“Today my foster cat showed us her awesomeness! She has 4 kittens that are 7 days old. I got a call from Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC)that they had 5 orphan kittens of similar age,” said Kim Teschan, who is currently fostering the mother cat, her kittens and the orphaned baby cats.

“I brought them home to see if she would adopt them. As soon as she heard one cry she came running. She is now the proud momma of 9 kittens.”

Although she has to look after her own kittens, mother cat always makes sure every baby gets to eat fairly. She also grooms them and provides some love and affection they probably did not experience from their own mother.

The orphaned kittens seem to be malnourished as they look small and thin compared to the other four kittens.

“I started supplementing this morning. After 3 supplemental feeding, I think they are doing better,” Kim Teschan.

The human foster mom is also doing everything that she can to make sure momma cat remains strong and healthy so she can provide lots of milk to the kittens.

“I have a heating pad on warm and the room at a warm temperature to help conserve energy.”

The four original kittens of the mother cat are also loving their new adopted siblings. It is going to be a fun and happy place once they are able to run and play.
