An adorable little kitten was found alone on a concrete slab and was immediately taken to the Chatons Orphelins Montréal. The tiny feline was abandoned by her feral cat mother and was clearly in need of medical attention.

Meet Kiwi the tiny kitten!

The tiny kitten was lucky to have been found by a kind-hearted woman who scooped her up and drove an hour to the rescue group in the city. The woman waited for the cat mother to arrive but when she realized that Kiwi was abandoned, she immediately stepped in and helped the poor kitten.

Kiwi was almost two weeks old when she was found, but she only weighed around 160 grams. According to volunteers at the shelter, the kitten was lucky that the kind-hearted woman decided to help her or she would have died.

Kiwi was treated for an eye infection and was immediately placed in foster care. Her foster parent took care of her around the clock, making sure she gets all the attention she needed.

“Her development was slow. Kiwi had to be syringe fed as she had trouble eating.”

Doctors expected Kiwi’s health to improve, but after a few days, her condition had worsened. Everyone at the shelter was worried because the kitten didn’t grow at all.

While most people have already given up, her foster mom, Erica, was determined to help the tiny kitten get better.

After countless sleepless nights, Kiwi began to grow. Despite her worrying condition, the adorable tiny kitten kept on fighting to survive.

The rescue group provided Kiwi the best medical team they could give until she becomes bigger and stronger. Although her growth appeared to be slower than normal, the tiny kitten showed everyone that her fighting spirit is at its highest.

“She is still a mini kitten, but she is plump, her hair is shiny and you can’t feel her bones anymore,” the rescue said.

“She is very sweet and likes to snuggle in her foster mom’s arms and the crook of her neck. She never leaves her side.”

“Kiwi had quite a difficult journey during the first three months of her life. Her foster mom hand-reared her every day and night, making sure she would not decline. They became very attached to each other.”
